Volunteer Areas:
Bulletin Board - Seasonally changing of the bulletin boards in the foyer or hallway Bible Class Teachers & Helpers - Assisting preparation and presentation of Bible lessons for Sunday morning or Wednesday night classes. Baptismal Assistance - Washing of baptismal robes, towels, and cleaning of baptistry dressing rooms. Children’s Activities - Planning activities for pre-K through 6th grade kids, such as skating, bowling, service projects, field trips etc. Encouragement - Sending cards to and visiting the sick, shut-ins, those who seem to be drifting away, new members, bereaved etc and keeping a record of such efforts and results. Graduation Party - Assist the youth deacon and his wife in hosting our annual party celebrating our high school and college graduates, including refreshments and decorations. Holiday Banquet - Planning and decorating for the annual holiday dinner, usually held between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Ladies Retreat - Planning an uplifting over-night retreat for all ladies in the congregation. Includes finding speakers, accommodations, planning fun time & entertainment, and food. Nursery Clean-up - Washing changing pad cover, wiping down changing pad and changing table, sanitizing toys. Progressive Dinner - Planning a one-night tour of homes with 2 to 3 homes, with appetizers, dinner, and dessert for all the ladies in the congregation, typically the first Monday or Tuesday in December. Love Gifts - Organizing and arranging gifts of love to send to college students and military members. Showers & Gift Baskets - Hosting baby and wedding showers, including refreshments and decorations. Also responsible for placing basket/bucket in the foyer for babies & adoptions when we aren’t hosting a shower. (We host one shower per family). Vacation Bible School - Work with the education deacon in teaching or assisting in Vacation Bible School by decorating the building and rooms, preparing lessons & crafts, preparing and serving snacks and drinks.
